...silly kitties...treat balls are for...

regular readers will remember the kitty treat ball...
which came to my "herd" by way of Miz Minka...
when Minka, who had received it from L'il Sis...
wouldn't deign to play with it...

my kitties loved it and just yesterday...
were enjoying rolling it around...
scarfing down the treats that fell out...

I suspected doggy deceitfulness this AM...
when I found the empty ball...in Molly's bed...

I re-filled the treat ball and rolled it for the kitties...
who soon had had enough...and retreated for naptime...
[an activity they pursue about 23.5 hours a day...]
but I still heard the rattle of the ball...
rolling on the wood floors...

and when I looked...
I saw this...

Well, now... That sweet "Molly? What're you doing? Molly?" does not exactly come across as: "Hey, stop doing that!" :D We wouldn't be having doggy discipline issues just because Molly's so cute and has you wrapped around her paws, would we?? :P

...rats...you got me...guilty as charged... ;D
...& I can assure you that a sterner tone of voice only generates a more contrite & pitiful "what did I do?" look...
which lasts until my back is turned again...

she also is a quicker study & more of an opportunist than I thought she'd be... ;}

"this"... is why I stopped teaching jr high... I lost interest in the "game"...you have to give me some
tips on "doggy resistance"... ;D

Is the treat ball made especially for cat treats? I bought one but it was labeled for dog treats, and sure enough the opening was so large that the entire contents fell out on the first roll. Not what I had in mind. I would love to find one that required a little kitty work to retrieve the goodies. Any suggestions?

...hi calico... the one I have was made in China, purchased in Germany...
& sent to MizMinka by her sister in Bremen[Germany]...it has an adjustable opening[think...twisting top of a garden snail bait canister..]so even cat food will fit...as well as most any smaller size treat...

anyway...I've found that about 2/3 opening worked well at first...for both cats & dog... some animals won't play with it...that's how I ended up with it...since they now are used to it...I've been making the opening smaller...so they need to work it to get a treat...
it has no name on it... only "made in China"...
