...breaking Mackie news

when I got up this AM... I feared the worst...
especially when he wasn't where I'd left him...
so I looked for him...
and there he was..up on the tree...

he looked at bit more alert...
more "Mackie"...

before I went to bed last night...
I'd forced water down him...
only a few dropperfulls to cut the med taste...
& he was NOT pleased...
but now, he seems a bit more himself...

so I offered him a cat food can to lick...

and he licked it...!
[enthusiastically, I might add...]

so I offered a teaspoon of that food...
["mixed grill"...comes in the assortment I got at Cosco...
I don't always have it & the other 3 kinds hadn't tempted him...]

and he ate it...!!!
[...and hungrily...!]

THEN...

he started washing his paws...!
[almost the best sign yet...
he's always been so well groomed...]

more later... Molly has to go out...

but this was too good not to share right away...

this is only a ray of light...
but I sure needed one...

thanks so much to all of you who are praying for him & me...

we do so appreciate it...

God is good...ALL the time...

post script... couple of hours later... he ate another spoonful of food...
no encouragement needed... and so far it seems to be staying down...

This is such good news about Mackie! I have been lifting him (and you too, of course) to the Lord feequently during the days! Keep us informed...the prayers will continue to fly. I almost feel like I truly KNOW Mackie from all your beautiful words and pictures!

Many hugs!

...thanks M&CM...it is almost miraculous the 180 he's done since this time yesterday...

he's just eaten again... has climbed up to the top of the cat tree to avoid the meds[hummm] and is now washing himself again...
his eyes look better and he's much more attentive...

it is amazing to see... :D
