...between a "bright spot" & a "light place"

last year... during December, I wrote about "lights"...

LOTS of lights...specifically, Unkle Phil's...

my neighbor to the south whose seasonal light displays...
have illuminated my kitchen, thus eliminating the need for night lights...
and brought a huge annual smile to the shareholders of PG&E stock...

this year, I have new neighbors to the north...
as A's granddaughter + roommate moved in after A's passing in May...

and for Halloween... they had SUCH fun decorating...
that I was already mentally preparing myself for the ocular onslaught...
I just KNEW December would bring...
and I didn't have to wait until December... !

yesterday...they were out...
hanging decorations & lights...

the red pyrocanthus berries go nicely with the ornaments...
no lights here...yet....

the lights are here...

also some garland & other decorations...

they started slowly for Halloween...
and kept adding...

Unkle Phil, on the other hand, is more liturgically minded...

he holds back during most of Advent...
saving his best "work" for the 12 Days of Christmas...

if they both proceed according to their track records...
I'll be able to save a LOT on my electric bill...
getting by on ambient lighting after "dark"...

I'm thinking that it'll be a "light" Christmas this year...

let the reindeer games begin !

Having made the switch from "reindeer games" to a more liturgically appropriate Nativity motif a few years back, I have a veritable treasure trove of lighted Santa, reindeer, snowflake, nutcracker, and "other" displays that I would be most happy to donate to my neighbor-on-the-north for her use this "holiday" season.

The good folks at PG&E anxiously await her reply...

...P-L-E-E-E-A-S-E don't...

I can sleep through your light shows...

her's would be glowing right in my bedroom... not even the miniblinds would save me...

I think that we should just let her find her "own" path... ;D
