...cat tales

having observed many a "tail parade" in my life with cats...
I have also come to the conclusion...
that the tails, tell tales...
you just have to read the story...

some kitties, like Cagney, who only seek harmony...
a pleasant perch from which to snooze away the day...
and a drink or two from the bathroom sink...
have no other "issues"...
and will keep their tail "close"...

Charlie's like that too...
keeping himself, "contained"...
and "out of the way"...
most of the time, that is...

Thomas, on the other paw, thinks that he's Alpha...
and just lets it "all hang out"...

as do Mackie & Murphy...
in unison...

as will Charlie, in a light-hearted moment...

Piglet generally has her stumpy, zig-zag tail, straight up...

it was broken in several places, looking like a quarter rest...

[or a Peek-a-choo...]

Fluff's tail is generally,"close"...
but is often carried as aloofly as possible...
as she perambulates about her kingdom...
and will switch with disapproval if I don't adore her properly...

MJ, generally carries his straight-up...
or semi-curved, if he's stretching as in this shot...

some cats carry a "caveat"...

Mz Sneaky Pie is one of those...
her tail tip is always moving...
back & forth...
as if to warn of the consequences...
associated with failing to pay proper homage to "Herself"...

Lucyfur was born with broken tail...
it is quite short, but has a 90˚ angle at the end...

it gives her truncated tail...
the appearance of a fluffy "pom-pom" tip...
it is NEVER still either...
as a caveat to any fool who would ignore her...
& her need for total obedience...

sometimes, as happened here...
when Sneaky Pie, Lacy & Lucyfur all were "greeting"...
there can be a confluence of cat tails...
almost becoming tangled in a Gordonian knot...

and then, the dance goes on...
with "tail ballet" a major by-product...

but then... not all tails, are cat tails...

and this tale is done...

I loved this, Catsinger! The pictures and the dialogue are absolutely great! You are missing your "calling" as a writer!
