the x-rays showed a large, almost certainly malignant tumor...
she wasn't going to get better...
& I could tell that she felt awful...
so after I cuddled & kissed her...
I petted her as she was put to sleep...
she didn't resist at all...
she always hated being handled at the vet's...
so I knew that it was time for her to go...
before she felt any worse...
which was coming since she wasn't drinking or eating...
I brought her home and laid her next to Fluff...
with a red rose bud in her paws...
rest well, beloved companion...

Oh, Catsinger, I am so very sorry that you have had to say good-bye to yet another one of your family. Of course you did the right thing and I know you have peace about it. What a lovely life you gave Piglet and how much I enjoyed reading about her. I feel as though I lost a friend also. May the Lord comfort your heart as only He can. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
...thanks so much M&CM...
there will be a "remembering Piglet" post sometime Friday telling the story of how she came to live with me & a bit more of those golden years we spent together as "cat" & "staffperson"...
Sorry to hear of your lose, losing a family member is never easy and my cat is definitely a member of the family.
They do live on in our hearts and memories.
..thanks M'n J...
it's not just that the 2 I lost slept with me for years, it's that they went 11 days apart... I knew it was coming for Fluff, Piglet was such a surprise because she seemed OK just a couple of weeks ago...
It has "opened the door" for the others to invade the bedroom & MJ proved himself to be a cuddle cat /purr machine last night... so we are healing...
